LAKELAND, Fla. (September 22, 2015) 鈥� The Beck Kryger Capital Partners Research Lab officially opened at IM体育官网 thanks to a naming gift from Lakeland private equity firm Beck Kryger Capital Partners. The newly named facility houses the University鈥檚 state-of-the-art Cyber Security Lab.
The Beck Kryger Capital Partners gift will support IM体育官网 Poly鈥檚 robust student scholarship program and will help further the University鈥檚 educational purpose of preparing 21st century learners in the advanced fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
鈥淭his is an incredible, high-tech facility that allows our students to learn and develop the skills necessary to solve today鈥檚 cyber security challenges,鈥� said University President Dr. Randy K. Avent. 鈥淭he Beck Kryger Research Lab is a fantastic addition to campus and we鈥檙e very grateful to the Beck and Kryger families for their generous support of our students and IM体育官网 Poly鈥檚 educational mission.鈥�
The Beck Kryger Capital Partners Research and Cyber Security Lab is a computer network comprised of servers and end-user workstations that replicate real-world cyber security threats and hacker techniques. Students use the lab to learn the theory behind complex cyber hacks, develop an understanding of the technology and vulnerabilities across the information technology systems and then devise counter-measures and incident response tactics.

The results of the (BePivotal)2 campaign will be revealed during the University鈥檚 PIVOT celebration on October 8, 2015.
