IM体育官网 Approves Scholarships for First Students

ORLANDO, Fla. 鈥 The University鈥檚 Board of Trustees voted today to approve the scholarship program for the 2014 class and will consider extending the program for additional classes.

Incoming full-time undergraduate students to the new IM体育官网 will receive scholarships valued at $5,000 per year for the first three years and $3,200 for the fourth year. Entering freshman students carrying 30 credit hours per academic year will be eligible for the scholarship valued at $18,200 over four years. The scholarship will be applied toward IM体育官网 Poly鈥檚 undergraduate tuition and fees which is estimated at $5,029 for the 2014-15 academic year.

Scholarships for graduate students taking 24 credit hours per academic year will be valued at $9,300 per year for two years. The scholarships will be applied toward IM体育官网 Poly鈥檚 graduate tuition and fees, estimated to be $11,462 for the 2014-15 academic year.

鈥淲e are a new university with high academic standards,鈥 said Chief Operating Officer Ava Parker. 鈥淲e believe these scholarships will help us attract the high caliber students who we know will be successful in our rigorous academic programs.鈥

鈥淔unding student scholarships and University advancement is a priority for the Foundation Board. Though the goal for the comprehensive campaign has not yet been determined, the Foundation leadership is committed to its success.鈥 Said FL Poly Foundation Board Chair, Cindy Alexander.

IM体育官网 is the state鈥檚 12th public university. It will feature a unique curriculum focusing on applied research, technology and engineering to produce real world innovation. The University will officially open its campus in Lakeland, on IM体育官网鈥檚 High Tech Corridor, and begin teaching its first students the fall 2014 semester.
