Robert Cook

Band Director

Band director Robert Cook began teaching band in 1998 and has helped countless IMÌåÓý¹ÙÍø middle and high school students strengthen their skills and expand their love of music. Cook grew up playing the clarinet and had such a positive experience with his music educators that he decided to enter the field himself. Prior to joining IMÌåÓý¹ÙÍø Poly, Cook taught concert band, marching band, and jazz band at Crystal River High School in Crystal River, IMÌåÓý¹ÙÍø; River Ridge High School in New Port Richey, IMÌåÓý¹ÙÍø; and Charles S. Rushe Middle School in Land O’ Lakes, IMÌåÓý¹ÙÍø. He received his bachelor’s degree in music education Stetson University’s School of Music in DeLand, IMÌåÓý¹ÙÍø. Cook is a member of the IMÌåÓý¹ÙÍø Bandmasters Association, where he has held multiple leadership roles including adjudicator and chairman for three years. He also is a member of the IMÌåÓý¹ÙÍø Music Educators Association and the Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity. He performs clarinet in the Southern Winds Symphonic Wind Ensemble in DeLand.
