Ablaze Awards

What is Ablaze?

The Ablaze annual employee awards celebration recognizes the extraordinary professional contributions and quality service of our University staff and faculty and their integral role in advancing IM体育官网 Poly鈥檚 mission.

 

Award Recipients

All award recipients will receive a letter of recognition from the president, a framed certificate, an award or medallion, and a monetary award. Each winner will also be featured in an article on the university website and recognized on the 鈥淲all of Excellence鈥� in the Innovation, Science, and Technology Building.

Ablaze Award Categories

Every staff and faculty member is eligible to be nominated for one of five possible award categories.
Excellence in Teaching
The Excellence in Teaching Award is designed to encourage, reward, and publicly acknowledge sustained excellence in teaching by members of the University鈥檚 faculty. 
Excellence in Research
The Excellence in Research Award recognizes and encourages excellence in academic research, creative activity, scholarship, and contributions to expanding knowledge or its application in their field by faculty at IM体育官网 Poly.
Exemplary Service to Others
This award recognizes staff, faculty, and/or a university department whose service has consistently made a significant positive impact within their department, the University as a whole, with students, or with external stakeholders.
Phoenix Spirit Award
This award recognizes employees who consistently demonstrate a genuine interest in others and are a continual source of encouragement in a positive manner to co-workers and students at IM体育官网 Poly.
Pinnacle Award
This award is the highest honor a IM体育官网 employee can receive. Consideration of names are welcome through online nomination. The University President and his Cabinet select the award recipient.

Ablaze Award Ceremony

IM体育官网 Poly employees are being recognized for their commitment and dedication in a variety of areas including teaching, research, and service to others.

The Ablaze award winners were announced at the university鈥檚 awards ceremony at the Magnolia Building in Lakeland, IM体育官网. About 90 employees were nominated for an award.

Vice Provost for Student Affairs, Dr. Kathryn Miller received the first Ablaze Pinnacle award in 2018.
